Ghana is a country located in the western part of Africa. Its uniqueness goes beyond the richness of the soil and its people with diverse cultures but its immediate surrounding also. Ghana is an anglophone country surrounded by francophone countries on all sides of its border. Ghana was the first Black African nation south of the Sahara to gain independence from colonial rule. Formally known as Gold Coast because of how the country was riddled with natural resources and precious stones. Even today Ghana is the second leading producer of cocoa according to statistics from 2019/2020 (Statista ,2020) which measured the production by a 1000 metric tons. Yet still even though having one of the highest GDP per capita in West Africa and also be the fastest growing economy in the world as of 2011, Ghana is developing country. According to the IMF (International Monetary Funds) Ghana is said to be one of the leading growing economies in Africa as at 2019. The keyword is growing. Despite all the natural resources and diverse culture and our reputation, one question remains, is Ghana operating at its full potential or can something be done? This led to looking at what thriving nations world wide and even in our continent are up to.
